buddibuddi is a mobile personal alarm system that provides assistance wherever and whenever it’s needed. It helps active and independent people stay that way.

The prototype for buddi was developed as part of a joint competition, run by the Design Council and the Department of Health, to find teams of designers and experts who could develop new ideas to help improve the lives of those affected by dementia.

The video below highlights the benefits of buddi.

At home the device communicates via a base-station that is also the charging dock and displays the power level. In an emergency, the user can communicate with the monitoring centre staff through two-way audio on the base station.

Outside the home the wristband works with the current buddi product, providing the user’s location wherever they go. The device includes an automatic fall alert so that if a user has a fall the wristband detects it and calls for assistance.
