The Commissioning framework for dementia may be used to revisit and re-establish the principles underpinning local commissioning priorities|to enhance integrated approaches to commissioning, and integrated service delivery|and to inform the use and adaptation of the accompanying Assessment Tool within the Dementia Commissioning Pack.

At each phase of the dementia journey, the framework sets out:

• outcomes for the person with dementia, their carers/families
• needs underpinning these outcomes
• what people can expect to be able to access and receive (information, resources, services, care and support)
• options for commissioners to consider in order to deliver these outcomes.
