End of life care strategy: fourth annual report

End of Life Care Strategy: Fourth Annual ReportVia Department of Health

The Department of Health has published the fourth annual report on progress in delivering the End of Life Care Strategy.

The fourth annual report (2012) confirms that:

  • more people have been able to die in their place of choice (at home or in a care home)
  • the national VOICES survey provides the first systematic account of how people actually experience care in the last three months of life
  • the National End of Life Care Intelligence Network has transformed end of life care intelligence from something relying almost entirely on mortality data, into a wide range of themed reports and locality profiles.
