This framework provides best practice guidance for commissioners in the NHS and local authorities to support implementation of the National Dementia Strategy, ‘Living well with dementia’.
The Strategy describes the outcomes and range of services that people with dementia and their carers should be able to access to improve their experience of dementia.
The framework suggests that commissioners should be leading the transformation of services for people with dementia and their carers. With the responsibility to plan and commission services on behalf of the local population, commissioners can orchestrate the delivery of the full spectrum of services that people need.
