The University of Edinburgh commissioned Strange Theatre to facilitate a research workshop with the service users of Alzheimer Scotland’s Lothian Early Onset Support Service. Image Theatre techniques were used to help the participants explore and express some of the difficulties faced by people affected by early onset dementia and their families. The learning from the workshop was captured in four short vignettes shown in the video below to help promote awareness of these issues.
This project was funded by University of Edinburgh and Alzheimer Scotland Dementia Research Centre. The project forms part of Dr. Nicholas Jenkins’ 5-year Chancellor’s Fellowship at the University of Edinburgh, through which he is exploring the needs, experiences and resilience of families living with dementia.
