Public Health Outcomes Framework 2013-16

Public Health Outcomes FrameworkThe Public Health Outcomes Framework sets out the desired outcomes for public health and how these will be measured.

The technical detail of the Public Health Outcomes Framework has been refreshed in line with the recent publication of the NHS Outcomes Framework and the Adult Social Care Outcomes Framework. Taken together they constitute a complementary structure for measuring improvement across the whole system of health and social care.

The Public Health Outcomes Framework concentrates on increased healthy life expectancy, and reduced differences in life expectancy and healthy life expectancy between communities. The outcomes reflect a focus not only on how long people live, but on how well they live at all stages of life.
