The South West Dementia Partnership has developed and implemented a set of standards for dementia care in hospitals in the South West. Commissioners are working with providers and local stakeholders to implement the standards.

Each of the acute hospital NHS Trusts in the South West has undertaken a self-assessment against these standards, using a range of resources and support materials.

Hospitals have been asked to produce local improvement plans by 30 June 2011. A peer review is planned for September to November 2011 in each of the hospital sites in the South West.
