This report, published by the Centre for Workforce Intelligence, is the first in a series investigating the workforce implications of moving towards an integrated health and social care system.
The report explores what integration means and questions:
- Do people working in health and social care need different skills and training?
- Is care likely to be delivered in a different setting?
- How can we manage changing perceptions and expectations?
The report considers eight different point models of care, describing the service provided and assessing economic, quality of care and workforce implications. Each model has a case study which gives a ‘real-life example’ of how it is being implemented.
In the next phase of the project, the Centre for Workforce Intelligence will provide guidance to help local service and workforce planners to plan their workforce using a care pathway approach.
