Making Plymouth University dementia friendly

Making Plymouth University dementia friendlyPlymouth University will deliver specialist dementia awareness training to staff in a signficant step towards becoming the country’s first dementia friendly university.

The training will be provided to all managers and front line staff as a key part of delivering a strategy designed to make staff and students more aware of the condition and the needs of those with it.

The University has been the academic partner of the Plymouth Dementia Action Alliance since 2010, and has already embedded dementia awareness in a number of academic areas.

The University is also involved in a Plymouth-based projects, which received funding as part of the Dementia Challenge fund, such as Dementia friendly Plymouth.
