The Prime Minister, David Cameron, has told carers that the government must commit its money, show more understanding and back personalisation.
Carers from all over the country travelled to 10 Downing Street to meet David Cameron and talk to him about their experiences and concerns. The reception on Wednesday was part of Carers Week 2011 and was sponsored by Skills for Care and Skills for Health. The theme of this year’s Carers Week is ‘The True Face of Carers’. It calls for greater recognition and support for the diverse – and often unexpected – range of people who give up their money, time and health to look after somebody else.
