From an Alzheimer’s Society communique.
Alzheimer’s Societys’ Singing for the Brain has been shortlisted for the People’s Millions.
People’s Millions is a Big Lottery Initiative and if we win we stand to get £49,590, which we will use to develop eight more Singing for the Brain groups across Devon and Cornwall.
We will be in competition with Elisabeth Svendsen Trust for Children and Donkeys. The viewing public will be invited to vote. The project with the largest vote will be announced as the winner the following day
Call 0871 62 68 138 and vote today, Monday 22 November 2010.
On that day our Singing for the Brain project will be televised for about two minutes in the regional evening news programme on ITV West Country.
Unfortunately we will not have the telephone number until the actual day but the good news is that you do not need to be in the ITV West Country viewing area. You can vote from anywhere in the country.
The important thing is that you get the number from www.peoplesmillions.org.uk and then you can vote up to ten times from the same phone.
In the meantime, you can write notes of support for the project on www.peoplesmillions.org.uk/2010-finalists/westcountry/singing-for-the-brain. We only have two supporters at the moment so please help.
Every vote will count; so please spread the word across the whole country.
