The Alzheimer’s Society has launched a volunteer project, ‘Connecting Communities’, which aims to raise awareness of dementia within black and minority ethnic (BME) communities across eight London boroughs.
Over the next three years, this pilot project will take a new approach to reaching and supporting people with dementia who are traditionally hard to reach. Volunteers will work with local communities to improve understanding of dementia and ensure people within different cultural communities have access to the support they need.
