The National Implementation Plan stresses importance of high-quality local action plans in implementing the National Dementia Strategy. Each South West community was asked to submit an action plan following an appraisal of their progress in the summer of 2009.
This report is designed to provide a helpful benchmark for local communities to assess the strength of their existing action plans. Good progress in delivering the National Dementia Strategy relies on the effective project management of good action plans.
This report presents the findings of a review of these action plans and identifies the key themes for local communities to consider. It begins by examining the overall structure and the detail of the plans and then compares activity by each objective of the National Dementia Strategy.
