Two local units pilot a new Enabling Environment Award

Two Units from Bodmin Hospital have been chosen by the Royal College of Psychiatrists to pilot the new Enabling Environment Award.

Alongside, a spectrum of charities, workplaces, social care services, educational institutions and other health care providers, Fletcher and Bowman Units which are run by Cornwall Partnership NHS Trust will aim to meet 10 core standards to demonstrate they promote mental well-being.

“I am really excited Fletcher and Bowman Units from Bodmin Hospital are among those who have been accepted to pilot this Award. Enabling patients and carers to get involved and have an impact on what we do and how we do it is really important and often has a very positive impact. It will be brilliant to be able to say we meet a set of national standards in this respect.”

explained Dawn Spry, Modern Matron at Bodmin Hospital.

The first Awards under the pilot will be made by the Royal College of Psychiatrists in December before the project is launched in the New Year.
