Positive support for measures to improve dementia care at the Royal United Hospital, Bath
A team of health professionals from across the South West visited the hospital in October to see for themselves how people with dementia were cared for and what improvements were in place. The peer review team praised the new system of dementia champions on each ward, and said the Charter Mark scheme, where wards have to meet a set of care standards, was ‘exemplary’. Read more »
Survey finds that over a quarter of physicians say continuity of care is poor in their hospital
A survey from the Royal College of Physicians (RCP) found that over a quarter (28%) of consultant physicians surveyed rate their hospital’s ability to deliver continuity of care as poor or very poor. Read more »

Most patients rate NHS care good or excellent
Patients continue to report improvements in aspects of care that matter most to them, and 84 per cent of patients rated their experience as excellent or very good, according to the results of the 2011 Patient Experience Outpatient Survey. Read more »
Research links online patient feedback and hospital performance
Independent research linking patient feedback left on the NHS Choices website and objective measures of hospital performance has been published by Imperial College London. Better-rated hospitals tend to have lower death rates and lower readmission rates. Hospitals rated as cleaner by patients have also been found to have lower MRSA rates. Read more »
