On 12th April Innovations in Dementia will be launching four films made by people with dementia.
In 2009 Innovations in Dementia set out to make a series of films to illustrate the creativity and positivity with which people with dementia were living their lives.
They worked with people with dementia living in the South-West who wanted to help spread the message that although a diagnosis of dementia may be life-changing, it is not life-ending.
Three of the short films were made by people living in Exeter, and the fourth by the Forget-me-Not group in Swindon.
These are not just films about dementia, they are a testament to the energy and creativity of people living their lives with dementia.
The launch of the public screening will take place at the Picturehouse cinema in Exeter at 1.45pm on Monday the 12th April. If you would like to come – please RSVP to steve@innovationsindementia.org.uk, or telephone me on 01392 420076.
If you can’t come to the launch, the films will be available to view, or to download via the Innovations in Dementia website www.innovationsindementia.org.uk from 13th April 2010.
